Our History
More than 55 years ago, Agrosuper initiated its operations with the production of eggs in Doñihue, a village located in Chile’s O’Higgins Region. The company soon entered the chicken meat market, and by 1960, had created the brand Super Pollo, which marked the beginning of our development into one of the nation’s most important agribusiness groups. Over the years, we have continued to diversify and expand, becoming a major producer of chicken, turkey, pork, sausages and ready-prepared meats, and salmon.
The excellent results of our early teamwork provided us with a solid foundation to assume the challenge of building and broadening our business. During our over half-century of growth, our meat product brands have included: Super Cerdo, Super Salmón, Cecinas Super, Sopraval and La Crianza.
Through our vast distribution network, we export over 2 million boxes of our products annually, primarily to the United States, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Agrosuper continually strives to develop and strengthen the vertical integration of its meat divisions. Today, we fully control all of our production chains, from the raising of the livestock and the manufacturing of feed, to the processing and meatpacking operations, and product distribution throughout the country, thereby assuring the quality of our raw materials for each productive process.
As important to us as assisting the advancement of our workers is supporting the communities where we operate. Our main focus is on education, since contributions in this area will make the greatest impact on a better future for the country and its people.
As part of this commitment, in late 2001, we created "Fundación Agrosuper," a foundation whose initial objective was to build a free-of-charge, primary and secondary school for underprivileged children. Located in Lo Miranda, in Doñihue, "Colegio Los Cipreses" provides the area's disadvantaged families with the opportunity to educate their children in a school of excellence with strong Christian values.
