The past, present and future of Agrosuper will always be committed to the protection of the environment and the development of the communities where we are inserted as well as our employees. One of the main concerns of our company is to look after the environment that surrounds us as we are aware of nature’s fragility and its importance for people’s development.
The elaboration of our products is made under the strictest regulations that guarantee the protection of the environment. Besides, we have achieved important national and international certifications which guarantee the quality standards that Agrosuper has implemented in the production of the food that millions of Chileans consume each day.
Every year our company makes important investments in the improvement of infrastructure, which has generated important innovations such as in the salmon industry and production, in the development of different works for the treatment of urine and in the breeding of poultry, pork and turkey. We have invested as well in programs of forestry plantations and treatment of waste disposal positioning Agrosuper as company in the lead on these areas.
However our responsibility is also linked to the communities where we are inserted. For this reason, we have implemented important training programs aimed to improve the professional and technical skills of our employees, as well as workshops for their families.
At Agrosuper we are convinced that the challenges set by a company cannot be achieved only throughout a business focus, but in order to make it a success, they must include respect for the people and responsibility towards the environment.
We take charge of our negative impact on the environment regardless if they are regulated or not.
We are the first company in the agro industry business who has certified its reduction on greenhouse effect (carbon footprint).
The objective is to voluntary decrease the local and global environmental impact of breeding pork.
Bound to generate a better quality of life for the neighbors in rural areas where breeding of pork is produced using leading technology, pioneer world wide, to reduce smells, gas emissions and greenhouse effect related of this industry. Since year 2000 up to date we have invested almost 100 million dollars in plants with active mud, compost and bio digesters which cover more than 80% of the installed capacity of the pork production from Agrosuper.
Other Initiatives
1. Creating and maintaining a botanical garden in the Atacama Desert (El Huasco province).
2. Looking after “Humedal del Yali” protected national park, by taking part of the Consulting Board (the only company from the private sector that is actively involved) and access control to this reserve.
3. Conservation of “Altos de Cantillana”, in the Metropolitan Region. Anticipated achievement of D°S°90, among others.
