What is Human A/ H1N1 Influenza?

It is a respiratory illness caused by INFLUENZA TYPE A virus.

¿How is it transmitted?

It is transmitted from one person to another throughout tiny drops of saliva and fluids eliminated through sneezing and coughing.
Large crowds in enclosed, non ventilated areas.
Throughout hands or objects contaminated with that are in permanent and direct contact with the ill person.
Being in direct contact with a person that had the virus and has been confirmed by the local Health Authority.

¿Which are the symptoms?

Temperature of 37,5º or above and at least 2 (two) of the following symptoms:
Symptoms:
Coughing. Myalgia (muscular pain). Congestion. Breathing difficulties. Diarrhea or vomiting

IMPORTANT

If you have had contact with a person which case has been confirmed as Human A/H1 N1 Influenza, follow these instructions:
Quarantine or voluntary confinement (staying at home for 7 days).

HYGIENE MEASURES AND HABITS TO ADOPT IN ORDER TO PREVENT THIS ILLNESS:

Frequently wash your hands with water and soap or alcohol gel.
Avoid enclosed and crowded areas.
When sneezing or coughing, cover your mouth with a handkerchief or with the internal part of your forearm.
Use disposable tissue paper, and throw it in a bin immediately after use.
Keep informed by official media of the turn of events.
Keep away from people which are currently ill with respiratory infections.
Do not share food, glasses or cutlery.
Open windows, ventilate and allow the sunlight in houses, offices and enclosed areas.
Keep clean all surfaces that are in contact with hands etc or potentially contaminated, at home as well as at the office or workplace (telephones, handrails etc)
Do not smoke in enclosed areas nor in the presence of children, elderly or ill people.
